2021 Annual Amendments

The City of Puyallup considers amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and Future Land Use Map once each year. Applications were due by April 1, and the City received one privately initiated application for consideration in the 2021 amendment cycle. The typical process for review includes holding work sessions with the Planning Commission over the summer months, a Planning Commission public hearing and recommendation in late Summer or early Fall, and consideration of that recommendation by City Council in the fall, with City Council action by the end of the year.

Public Meetings

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission held work sessions on May 12 and July 14, 2021, and then held a public hearing on the application on August 25, 2021. The Commission deliberated immediately following the public hearing and voted 5-1 on a recommendation of approval to the Puyallup City Council.

The Planning Commission agenda packets, which include additional information on the application, are posted on the Agendas webpage.

City Council Meetings

Puyallup City Council held a study session on September 21, 2021, followed by a public hearing on October 26, 2021. After the public hearing on Oct. 26, the City Council voted, 4-2, to deny the 2021 privately initiated Comprehensive Plan application (#L-21-0002; Tackett Fourplex). On November 23, 2021, the City Council passed a resolution including findings of fact for the denial of the subject application.

Please visit the Agendas, Minutes and Videos webpage for information on the prior meeting agenda packets.
